Education

I received my Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2011 from the Cellular and Physiology Institute at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in Mexico City. I conducted research at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC, Ohio, U.S.) as Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Associate until 2018; then, I joined UTRGV as Assistant Professor. During my formation, I have had the fortune of being mentored by exceptional researchers such as Dr. Diana Escalante-Alcalde, Dr. Kenneth Campbell, Dr. Masato Nakafuku, Dr. Richard Lu, and Dr. Nancy Ratner.
